Dr. William Schlesinger was born in Brooklyn, New York, and received his undergraduate degree from Brooklyn College. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, one of the top dental schools in the country.
After completing his residency and serving as chief resident at Long Island Jewish Hospital’s Queens General Hospital, Dr. Schlesinger joined the hospital’s house staff while also practicing in several respected private offices throughout the New York metropolitan area.
In 1998, Dr. Schlesinger opened his own practice on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, where he provided comprehensive, patient-centered care for more than two decades and built a reputation for meticulous work, gentle technique, and clear communication.
After more than 20 years practicing on the Upper East Side, Dr. Schlesinger now brings that same level of expertise, precision, and personal attention to patients on Long Island.
Dr. Schlesinger’s guiding philosophy is simple: Treat every patient with the same care and respect he would want for himself or his own family.
His commitment to lifelong learning and professional excellence is reflected in his achievements:
Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD) — earned in 2006; fewer than 2,200 dentists worldwide hold this distinction.
Board Certification by the American Board of General Dentistry (ABGD) — earned in 2009; only about 800 dentists have completed the rigorous three-part examination.
Associate Fellowship in the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID) — earned in 2014.
Membership in the American Dental Association (ADA) and other respected dental organizations.
Now practicing on Long Island, Dr. Schlesinger continues to offer comprehensive care based on honesty, precision, empathy, and open communication.
Outside of dentistry, he enjoys time with his family, music, sports, cars, and great food.
